It seems to be much easier to find small ceramic-fruits-and-vegetables for my collection than to find big, juicy ones--so I was thrilled to see this fabulous cookie jar in the shape of an orange on a recent thrift-store foray!
I love the shiny, luscious color of the orange, and the humor of the stem-and-leaf handle. I have to say I think the contrast of the green and orange color is wonderful!
The cookie jar measures 11" to the top of the leaf, it's 8-1/2" wide, and it does have a few dings and chips. The interior is a tasty, slightly deeper orange. All for $3.00--love it!

Good find it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks--I love it! ButI'm starting to wonder if I should cull the collection again, or just get more shelves. . .
DeleteVery cute. I've decided I want to add a citrus theme to my kitchen. I've been going to thrift stores looking for similar items. Enjoy!

Can't wait to see!
DeleteI love it and have been looking for an orange cookie jar. If you ever decide to sell it, please let me know. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteIt's me again. I have been able to find lemon ceramics without too much effort, but finding orange ceramics is nearly impossible. I live in Redlands, California, a city known for its citrus industry and have a citrus-themed kitchen as a result. Again, if you ever decide to sell your orange cookie jar, please let me know.
