Miniatures Monday--Tiny Dresses

Even though I am (and my children are!) past school age, autumn still brings on that familiar urge to buy new notebooks and pencils, and to make new school clothes-- looks like the tiny dolls are in luck!

There's a new dress for each of the Tiny Ones--except a couple of girls who are currently at the spa.  So much fun choosing the tiny scraps of fabric and trim!

  1. I admire the fact that you are able to sew such tiny dresses! I have some clothes pin dolls, waiting to be clothed; I just can't seem to handle such small things.

  2. Working on your Dollar Store doll clothes-great idea, especially since the kids are so hard on them to invest a lot of time/money.

    I discovered this to share:
I bought 3 prs. of the cute multi- color kids low ankle socks for $1. (I didn't have the underwear yet.)
Cut thru the ankle elastic on the back side, straight all the way thru the heel and around to the toe til you can lay each sock flat. Then lay the 2 socks RST and you will see the 2 elastic tops become a neckline for a knit top! Sew at shoulders, then leave an arm's width open on each side and sew up the side seams.
Yea! A little cap-sleeve T-top for dolls! Mine turned out to be 6" long and a stretchy 11" around. You don't have to hem the armholes or the hem. Mine was hot pink and turned out with a triangle color of the lime green heel showing on the shoulders. Longer socks should give you a tunic length or stretchy dress.
