I think I mentioned that I was fairly sure that making a Backyardigan into a mermaid was a one-time project, but. . .
It turns out that Diana's Backyardigan friend, Uniqua, yearned to be a mermaid too, and has come to my house for a fitting. We chose a lovely sea green from the bits-for-doll-clothes pile, to complement her complexion. Sparkly clear jewels and tiara from the craft-bits box compete her ensemble.
Fortunately my original hippo-to-mermaid pattern needed only minor alteration. I did try to play up the tail a little more, but I think even more is called for--if there is a next time!
Looking good, Uniqua!
